Radical

Teacher Sergio Correa (Eugenio Derbez) arrives at his new school in Matamoros, Mexico, near the border with Texas, in good spirits. The enthusiastic teacher soon discovers that there are few resources at the school - the computers were stolen four years ago and never replaced - and even less enthusiasm to teach the young people: the region is infested with gangs, the children often come from difficult home situations and achieve the lowest test scores in the country. He decides to completely change course and use 'radical' methods to inspire his students and offer a better future.

Radical is based on a true story, beautifully performed by the engaging young cast and lead actor Mexican superstar Eugenio Derbez, who also played a teacher in the Oscar-winning film Coda. This inspiring indictment of convention was the winner of the Festival Favorite Award at the Sundance Film Festival and the winner of the LIFF Audience Award at the Leiden International Film Festival.
