A Mic Of One’s Own ^ENG

A new edition of A Mic of One’s Own, the ongoing collaboration between Kunstinstituut Melly and The Writer’s Guide (to the Galaxy). This edition takes inspiration from Draw Withdraw Redraw, a group exhibition at Melly exploring an expanded understanding of drawing. Drawing can be a way to begin, recognize, create movement, improvise, resist, pause, reorient, reinvent, or simply start over. Rather than a finished act, the exhibition approaches drawing as an ongoing, in-between process. We invite writers of poetry, spoken word, short stories, essays, songs, journals, or any other genre to create and perform a piece with ‘Drawing’ as its central theme. Take it as literally or metaphorically as you like: draw connections, cross some lines, erase them, redraw them, or wander off the already drawn paths entirely. Be creative, experiment, and see where the theme takes you. Performers will be selected through an open call.
