The port of Rotterdam

As a port city, Rotterdam is inextricably linked to the Maas. There are all kinds of ways to discover and experience the river and port of Rotterdam.

The port of Rotterdam

You can take beautiful walks along the water. From the Willemskade, the Maaskade, the Willemsbrug, the Noordereiland, the Wilhelminapier and the Erasmus Bridge, you have a continuous view of the shipping and the characteristic skyline of the city. Along the way you will come across many beautiful spots where you can rest for a while and take in the view.

The harbor can be felt continuously

The port can also be felt continuously in the city. A number of Rotterdam inland ports have become the backdrop for lively entertainment areas. The Scheepvaartkwartier, the Oude Haven, historic Delfshaven and the Katendrecht peninsula are good examples of this.

The best time to experience the Maas and the port to the fullest is during the World Port Days in September. There are excursions, demonstrations, boat trips and cultural entertainment on the water and the quays for an entire weekend.
