Scapino Ballet

Scapino breathes dance, lives dance, is dance. Yet creating and performing dance has never been a goal in itself for Scapino. Scapino was founded in 1945 by Hans Snoek, Hans van Norden and Nicolaas Wijnberg, among others. They wanted to 'bring back color to children's faces that had been pale by the war.' Without the belief that dance can do something like this, Scapino would not have existed. The urge to make a difference through dance is still what drives us.
