Rotterdam Radio Museum

In the radio and television/computer museum you will find the collection of Mr. H. de Jong and gifts from collectors.

The mission of the Rotterdam Radio Museum

The objective of the Rotterdam Radio Museum Foundation is to exhibit and maintain a unique collection of historical radio, television, reception, communication, electronic recording and computer equipment. Our volunteers not only provide the presentations and demonstrations, but also the restoration, registration and documentation of the collection. New products are offered to us every week, after which they are expertly assessed and, after approval, added to our collection.

The current collection is already very extensive, but it is still not completely complete and if you would like to make a donation, we would be happy to hear from you.

The origins of the Rotterdam Radio Museum

The Rotterdam Radio Museum Foundation was established in November 1998 by the former director of Correct, the late Mr. Harry de Jong Sr. (son of the founder of Correct and enthusiastic technician and sea sailor). Together with fellow industry member Peter Ivens (former director of Grundig Nederland) and Henk Heessels (former director of JVC Nederland) he formed the board of the Rotterdam Radio Museum Foundation until February 2014. Our volunteers of the Rotterdam Radio Museum are busy almost daily maintaining and presenting the collections and especially in the last few months they have been working hard, because after years of being housed in the historical building, a former storage shed of the Dutch Railways, the collection of approximately 2000 radios, televisions and related electronic products can now be viewed in a new location above the Correct store at Ceintuurbaan 111 (2nd floor) in Rotterdam. Not everything is yet as we want it, but the radio department is already very presentable.
