The old Luxor Theater on the Kruiskade has long been a stage for new and established cabaret talent, intimate concerts and beautiful stage productions. It has over 900 seats.
The Old Luxor Theater
The building was designed in 1917 by Pieter Vermaas as a luxury cinema. It miraculously survived the bombing of May 1940, and after the Second World War it was often given a theater function and grew into the entertainment theater of Rotterdam.
The building was renovated several times to meet the changing needs of the times. In 2017, the theater celebrated its centenary, which was extensively celebrated with an exhibition and anniversary performances.
