In the Natural History Museum Rotterdam visitors discover the importance and extraordinary sides of nature, biodiversity and a biodiverse city. The collection of birds, mammals, fish, insects, shells and plants shows earth's biodiversity in all its diversity. For example the permanent exhibitions 'Dead Animal Tales' tells the stories of famous dead animals. An eye-catchers is the skeleton of elephant Ramon that lived in the Rotterdam Zoo. Besides this there's also temporary exhibitions, which makes that visitors can always discover something new. Extra tip: you can visit the Natural History Museum for free every first Wednesday afternoon of the month.
Accessibility
You can find the Natural History Museum Rotterdam in the Museumpark, where several cultural institutions are located. Tram stop Kievitslaan (line 8) is a two-minute walk away. Parking is available in the Museumparkgarage. Extra tip: download the Natuurhistorisch Museum's app ‘Rotterdam city nature’ and use it to walk from Rotterdam Central Station to the museum in 20 minutes.
