Kunstinstituut Melly is an international art institution with Rotterdam as a home base. It is located in a former school building on the Witte de Withstraat.

About the art institute

Art Institute Melly (formerly Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art) is an international art institution based in Rotterdam. Since 1990, the center has been the place to be for anyone who wants to be informed of what is going on in the world of international contemporary art. It is one of the most important institutions for contemporary art in the Netherlands, and is internationally recognized as a pioneer in this field. A progressive platform where there is room for both emerging and established artists and curators.

A completely new exhibition is shown in Melly three times a year, always specially curated for the art institution. In addition to exhibitions, Melly organizes lectures, film screenings and other events, publishes books and has a diverse and interactive education offering.

Free entrance on Friday night

Every Friday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, Kunstinstituut Melly, V2_, WORM, and MaMA offer free entrance during Kunstavond (Art Evening) in Rotterdam. These evenings are coordinated by Kunstblock, a collaborative initiative of the four art institutions, and offer a diverse program featuring exhibitions, live performances, and more.

The exhibition space is located in a monumental former school building on Witte de Withstraat, Rotterdam's cultural street.
