The Keilepand in the MerweVierhavens (M4H) of Rotterdam is originally a warehouse from 1922. Since then it has undergone an impressive metamorphosis into a cultural and culinary hotspot in Rotterdam. Passionate entrepreneurs from various disciplines are working on a circular and sustainable future.

Collectivity as a basis for circularity x KeileCollectief

To realize a circular and sustainable future in M4H, the entrepreneurs from the building have united in the KeileCollectief. The KeileCollectief addresses, initiates and participates in current spatial issues in its own unique way and, with the Keilepand as its home base, forms a catalyst for urban renewal.

She does this by organizing lectures, exhibitions and offering space for cultural activities in the KeileZaal. Think of various events in art, culture and architecture such as: Cinema Culinair, Rotterdam Art Week, Haute Photographie, KeileContemporary, Carbon Stories, WildLife Film Festival Rotterdam and Placemaking Week Europe.

Restobar CULT=US. Cult=us is the new hotspot in the Rotterdam M4H area where you can enjoy delicious food and drinks in a hospitable, energetic and positive environment. The kitchen of the restaurant is located in the shared kitchen of Food Union Rotterdam and they consciously choose suppliers and partners who share their sustainable and social ambitions. The focus is on pure and above all very tasty dishes to share. The drinks menu includes a number of beers from Kaapse Brouwers that are brewed in the basement of the Keilepand and several (natural) wines and cocktails. In addition, Cult=us always tries to find the connection with other participants and there are several dishes from the world cuisine of Food Union on the menu. There is also a changing art exhibition to admire every six weeks and every Friday and Saturday you can dance until 3 am: Cult=us=Club!

Food Union Rotterdam. On the ground floor is Food Union Rotterdam (FUR). A culinary breeding ground with a shared kitchen where the food entrepreneur is central. Caterers from all over the world find their place here and many beautiful and valuable collaborations arise. In addition, FUR also rents out event and office spaces. They regularly organize all kinds of events in collaboration with Cult=us and participants from the kitchen. Think of pop-up dinners. For example, there is a workshop every two weeks on making Neapolitan pizza. Keep an eye on the social media of Food Union Rotterdam and their entrepreneurs for all events.

IABR (International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam). The IABR is both a cultural and a knowledge institution. In this combination, it can optimally and purposefully deploy the power of imagination and design for actual change. Since 2009, its two most important instruments have been the IABR–Ateliers, where research takes place, and the biennale itself, the cultural manifestation where results are shown and conceptualized, and public debate is held.
