History

The Hofbogen is part of the former railway connection (Hofplein Line) connecting Rotterdam, The Hague and Scheveningen. In 2010, the viaduct was taken out of service and became the longest monumental building in the Netherlands winding through Rotterdam Noord. Under the old railway viaduct, you will find around 2 kilometers of design, fashion, and food & drinks. Dozens of creative entrepreneurs have set up shop here—not chain stores or big brands, but small specialty shops with unique products, owned by Rotterdammers. When the weather is nice, the restaurants and bar open their sunny terraces. Events are organised on the roof of former stations Hofplein and Bergweg.
