The Coolhaven was dug in 1922. Especially after the war, many port-related companies settled in this area, which is separated from the center.
Coolhaven Island
Coolhaven Island was created in 1933 with the digging of the Coolhaven, a shipping route from the Schie to the open water of the Nieuwe Maas. Coolhaveneiland is part of the Delfshaven district, where there are various cultural institutions, where there is regularly something to do. Visitors come from all over the city and beyond.
