City Church Het Steiger Sint Dominicus

Het Steiger is located on Rotterdam's only canal, between the offices on Blaak and the shops in Hoogstraat. Open for reflection, meeting, lighting a candle, celebrations and activities.

City Church

City Church Het Steiger/Sint Dominicus is part of the Roman Catholic Johannesparochie, as part of the Federation Rotterdam Recht Maasoever.

Until the merger in 2014, it was a parish of the Dominicans. The Steiger community is now trying to connect with its merger partners, but also to keep the Dominican ideas alive and strengthen them. Freedom of thought and action and democracy are important features.

As a City Church we are open almost every day: for weekday celebrations; further for courses and other activities. In an ecumenical context with other churches in the city center, we try to give shape to the Gospel. This means that we jointly support metropolitan activities such as Laurentius Day and Church Night.

There are regular exhibitions in the cloister, organized by the Art Committee of Het Steiger.
