The Little Mermaid will be screened during Floating Cinema

Maritime District Foundation is organising Floating Cinema for the fourth time. On Saturday evening, 14 September, The Little Mermaid will be screened on a big screen at marina The Red Apple Marina. Visitors can book a seat including popcorn. For a few euros more, they will be seated on the water, and you can also moor your own boat of up to 8 metres. Tickets and packages can be booked via this link.

Prior to the film, there is already plenty to do in the Maritime District. As part of Open Monuments Day, for instance, people can visit historic ships in the Old Harbour and take free boat trips. You can also take a tour of the Maritime District yourself in an electric boat and/or have a bite to eat and drink while floating. Before the film, there will be an extensive supporting programme with performances by the theatre singing group Prestige, a dazzling synchronised swimming show by ACZ Capelle and a fire show by Kye Middleton.

Sander Waterval, organiser and director of the Maritime District Foundation: "This fourth edition will be extra special because on this evening a temporary "living" work of art in the water will also be unveiled, I'm sure it will get a lot of views and attention in the near future because it really makes you blink your eyes for a moment. In addition, the multifunctional "Aquarium" pontoon - which includes underwater meeting and sleeping facilities - will then be officially opened. So we are looking forward to another beautiful late summer evening! We do advise visitors to dress warmly as it can cool down considerably in the evening, especially on the water."
