The Devil Makes Three, Nick Shoulders and The Brothers Comatose at Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival
Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival is all about roots music, surprising contrasts and, more than ever, connection. From 4 to 6 July, headliners include The Devil Makes Three, Nick Shoulders, The Brothers Comatose and Brennen Leigh. The Noordplein will also feature top Dutch artists like Blue Grass Boogiemen with Tim Knol and Maurice van Hoek and Bertolf together. Tickets are available now via this link.
Other notable artists include the French-Moroccan Bab L' Bluz - which is musically revolutionising North African blues - and Jake Blount, who fuses ancient fragments of his African-American ancestors into compositions. Audience favourite from 2024, Argentine punkgrass band Angry Zeta, is also back on the bill. Texan queer folk and country artist Creekbed Carter Hogan will also be present, and Julia Beets will show how well you can actually chop to bluegrass music with her workshops GabberGrass.
The choices for such outspoken acts stem from a deep yearning for connection. Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival, especially in this political climate, wants to make everyone feel welcome, break down barriers and show how much we are alike at the core.

Prices remain low
To nurture diversity, the festival keeps prices low. 17 euros for a day ticket and for 45 euros there is access for three days. Children up to 14 years old have free access to the site and people in debt repayment get free tickets, a snack and a drink, thanks to the collaboration with Stichting Nieuw Vaarwater.
