The Buitenkans is a new city campsite
Cultural Campsite could be found at De Kroon for a few years. A city campsite where it was possible to stay overnight in 9 works of art. Cultural Campsite has since gone bankrupt but De Buitenkans is opening at roughly the same spot. At the industrial campsite, you can sleep in a vault, the glass house or even on a boat, among others. Anyone can come on Saturday 5 April between 12.00 and 17.00. There will be drinks, a bonfire and marshmallows.
Buitenkans Rotterdam was born from a shared dream. Initiators Zora and Wendy, after years of working together in a GGZ care organisation, decided to pursue the dream of a special outdoor place.
The Buitenkans has camper spaces for rent and thus special accommodation such as, in addition to the aforementioned sleeping cabins, for example, a refurbished caravan and a rooftop tent and a circular Tiny House.
Founders Zora and Wendy want to offer a complete social experience where Rotterdammers and visitors to the city can meet, connect and enjoy each other. De Keet plays an important role in this, being the atmospheric living room and the hangout for guests. At set times, De Keet also opens its doors to visitors from outside for Friday afternoon drinks, yoga classes or other fun activities. For this, we regularly collaborate with other entrepreneurs at De Kroon.
"We wanted to create a camping site in Rotterdam where people can relax, really connect and have special experiences together. The Buitenkans is not just an overnight spot in Rotterdam, but a social space that contributes to the well-being of both Rotterdammers and visitors from outside the city.''
