Submarine shed is transformed into design Walhalla with over 60 vintage dealers

On 12 and 13 October, the first edition of Collectors Rdam will take place. In the Onderzeebootloods, 5000m2 will be filled with vintage design furniture, collectors' items, designer bags and art. From Eames to Herman Miller and from the Togo Ligne Roset to Giovanni Offredi for Saporiti and Pastoe. Over 60 European design dealers and galleries will be present. The offer consists of different styles, from Midcentury Modern to Brutalism and Space age.

Collectors Rdam is organised by November Events. Vanessa Erasmus, founder of several of her own events, learned the tricks of the event trade at Rotterdam Ahoy when she was young. In 2006, she started her own business and set up a successful event for young designers and entrepreneurs in 2010. This event initially took place in Rotterdam, but now travels throughout the Netherlands. At the age of 18, Vanessa was already scouring various markets to trade privately on a small scale. Her interest in beautiful design items and organising events is now combined in an event.

Individuality and character

The focus on vintage is growing. Marketplace, Vinted and other second-hand platforms are growing like crazy. Several Trend Forecast agencies like WGSN are already writing about Gen Z's buy-to-sell pricinciple. In all walks of life and ages, there is a demand to add individuality and character to interiors and personal style. Besides, it is also sustainable and that beautiful designer piece in a new home will last another lifetime.
