Port Pavilion offers information and inspiration on the port
The Leuve Pavilion at Schiedamsedijk 68, between Coolsingel and Erasmusbrug, is home to Port Pavilion. The starting point to discover the port of Rotterdam. An 11-metre-long photo-mascot with interactive projection gives an overview of all cycling routes, viewpoints, tours, attractions, beaches, nature and recreation areas in and around the port.
Whether it's a cruise or bike ride through the harbour, or an encounter with a Scottish Highlander on Landtong Rozenburg. From kiting on the Oostvoornse Meer to a visit to the Maeslant barrier.
A total of 12 day trips are possible, divided into 9 categories. From, for example, attractions and museums to water sports and historical and industrial heritage. There are specially trained port hosts who can give advice and think along with you. They can tell you all about the many tours, routes and trips and often have surprising tips!
Where the port of Rotterdam once originated
In addition, six large screens that move continuously in front of the metre-high wall, sometimes individually and sometimes collectively show faces and contrasts that dot the 40-plus kilometre expanse of the port area. It is as if you are already in the middle of the port in the heart of the city. Near the spot where Rotterdam's port once originated with the Leuvehaven in 1604. Followed closely by the Wijnhaven, Glashaven and Bierhaven: in the 17th century, Rotterdam grew along with world trade.
Also forges and wafers
Besides Port Pavilion, there are publicly accessible workshops in the pavilion. Welders, blacksmiths and carpenters from the Maritime Museum will give demonstrations there. Coffee, waffles and ice cream will be offered at Loeve.
