Metre-high mural for Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra on West Kruiskade

The Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the leading orchestras in the Netherlands and enjoys international recognition for its dynamic performances and innovative approach to classical music. The orchestra will have its own mural. It will be created by Roy Valk, better known by his stage name Karski. The mural will be on the two walls above Bram Ladage, on the corner of West-Kruiskade and Diergaardesingel. This location is close to concert hall de Doelen, the home of Rotterdam's orchestra. The artwork will be an ode to music, art and the city of Rotterdam.

Karski (previously created an acclaimed 17-by-17.5-metre triptych of athlete Femke Bol in Amersfoort) is known for his large, colourful works that touch passers-by. With this new artwork, he bridges the gap between the energy of the city and the artistic power of the orchestra. The street artist expects to complete the painting in the course of next week.
