Lots of ice fun, Schaatsbaan Rotterdam fully open
For the first time ever, Skating Rink Rotterdam opened its doors during the autumn holidays. Visitors could already visit the Funbaan and Curlingbaan. On 23 November, skating enthusiasts from Rotterdam and the surrounding area can also take to the 400-metre rink. To mark
the Grand Opening, Schaatsbaan Rotterdam offers visitors the
opportunity to skate for only €1.
The Grand Opening marks the start of Skating Rink Rotterdam's 12th season The official opening is accompanied by a festive programme for young and old, the first noren hour (at
08:00) and skating at a reduced rate of €1 between 09:00 and 17:00. After 17:00, a reduced rate of €6 applies, making the Grand Opening not only a festive but
also an accessible start to the winter season for everyone.
In addition to recreational skating, the Grand Opening offers a wide range of activities, including taster classes in speed skating and figure skating. Especially for young visitors, there will be various games and crafts as well as curling4kids and ice skating. Hillsback Brass Band will provide energetic performances on the Winter Square. From 16:00, the ice will be spectacularly illuminated by
the iconic rainbow lights and the day will end with a silent disco.
To mark the opening of its 12th season, Schaatsbaan Rotterdam has produced its own song: Heel Rotterdam Schaatst. Hte song will soon be available on Spotify. During the Grand Opening, the ice rink aims to record a video clip with as many visitors as possible. Schaatsbaan Rotterdam therefore invites all visitors to the opening to play in this music video.
