Katherine Ryan brings Battleaxe to Rotterdam

Katherine Ryan is one of the hardest working comedians on the UK comedy scene. The Canadian born has lived in the UK for many years and has conquered the world from there. She performs everywhere, makes television shows, writes books and acts in series. Her new show is called Battleaxe and she will be at the new Luxor Theatre on Thursday 22 May 2025. A Battleaxe is a frightening, unpleasant older woman with a strong opinion. In her stand-up shows, she touches on all kinds of topics, from recognisable home situations with her family to socio-critical reflections: she comes up with great jokes and pointed observations every time.

Ryan is known, among other things, for her Netflix series The Duchess, which she wrote and produced herself. Two of her specials can be seen on Netflix, and her most recent solo show Missus broke records on Sky TV. She starred in the UKTV series Parental Guidance, Comedy Central's Out Of Order and hosted the Amazon Prime series Backstage with Katherine Ryan. She wrote the book The Audacity, which immediately shot into the Sunday Times bestseller list. She also creates the podcast Telling Everybody Everything, which regularly tops the podcast charts.
