Free activities in late summer
Cultural life has restarted after the holidays. So there is plenty of choice again and it is even possible to (re)discover museums, cultural institutions and other venues for free.
Grand Rotterdam Atelier Weekend
During the fifth edition of the Greater Rotterdam Atelier Weekend(GRAW), 712 artists will display their studios. A total of 99 locations can be visited for free.
20 and 21 September
Open Day Depot
During the Open Day, there will be a programme of all kinds of activities from 11am to 5pm. Hundreds of artworks from the museum's collection will be on display. The depot guides can talk about the objects. There is an educational programme for children and a festive musical offer.
Science Festival
Discover science at Erasmus University Rotterdam's science festival. Meet scientists, do experiments or follow a scavenger hunt. For children aged 8 to 14 and their families, there are various workshops and activities, including piloting robots and exploring unknown planets.
6 October
Between Art and Kids
Between Art and Kids is a fun theatre talk show for curious children aged 7 and above and their families, in which Joris Lutz and his sidekick sing, dance and laugh together with a live band. There will also be something tasty made by the cook, and sitting still is not obligatory.
13 October
Art Block Art Evening
Kunstblock is a collaborative initiative of the art institutions in and around the Witte de Withstraat: MaMA, V2_Lab for the Unstable Media, Art Institute Melly and WORM. Every Friday night from 6pm to 9pm, the institutions open their doors and visitors can experience a rich and varied range of exhibitions, live performances and more for free.
