Experience Mozart's Requiem with Laurens Cantorij and Codarts

Want to hear Mozart's Requiem in a special way? Then come to the Laurenskerk on Friday 14 February, when the Laurens Cantorij, Codarts Choir and Codarts Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Richard Egarr, will perform the choral work in the Laurenskerk Rotterdam.

Mozart was 35 when he was composing his Requiem. The story of his life captures the imagination and mystery always hangs around his end of life.

Presence of Mozart

In films, many try to get closer to the genius' soul. But we feel his presence most strongly in his music. In the hands and voices of young musicians, his spirit comes even closer.

Conductor and harpsichordist Richard Egarr will introduce Codarts' conservatoire orchestra to Mozart's style. This collaborative project will also create a sought-after opportunity for young vocal students to solo with him. Everything is geared towards being able to gauge the drama and depth of one of the greatest choral works in music history.

About Laurens Vocaal and Codarts

Laurens Vocaal is the umbrella family name of the organisation's three choirs: the Laurens Cantorij, the Laurens Collegium and the Laurens Symphonic. Laurens Vocaal's mission is to let audiences experience how good choral music can touch a person. The choirs regularly collaborate with Rotterdam's Codarts conservatoire to give young talents the chance to develop further in the profession in a professional environment.
