Cinema Culinair presents new screenings in Rotterdam
The Keilepand regularly serves a unique concept. During film screenings, visitors are served the exact same dishes as the film characters with perfect timing. The programme for January is now known. Among others, Chef, The Grand Budapest Hotel and The Hundred Foot Journey are on the programme. As well as the new film: Soul Kitchen. Tickets are now available via this link.
The idea for Cinema Culinair originated in 2008 in Rotterdam's Graaf Florisstraat, where residents served the same dishes to their neighbours during film screenings. In 2013, the iniatives aim to make the concept known to a wider audience and the first screenings will take place in BIRD. After that, Cinema Culiniar will provide the unique film and dinner experience at special locations throughout the Netherlands.
In hometown Rotterdam, the imposing Keilepand will be the permanent venue for sampling films from 2022 onwards.
CHEF
To be seen on Friday 10, Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 January. CHEF is the popular feel-good film featuring delicious Cuban street food dishes such as the Cubano sandwich.
The Grand Budapest Hotel
On Saturday afternoon, 11 January, there will be a brunch screening of The Grand Budapest Hotel. Concierge Gustave H. and his loyal lobby boy Zero reveal a world of wealthy guests, luxurious dinners and compelling mysteries.
The Hundred Foot Journey
The fim full of French and Indian food will be screened on Saturday, 17 January.
Soul Kitchen
Cinema Culinair has already taken dozens of films as the basis for their events. But new ones are still coming. On 19 January is the first screening of Soul Kitchen. A swinging food film full of humour and drama about two Greek brothers who try everything to keep their rowdy restaurant in Hamburg running.
