Bertolf, Tray Wellington, Delaney Davidson and Nat Myers come to Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival

Bertolf will perform a special show at the upcoming edition of the Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival. The singer-songwriter from Zwolle released a bluegrass album with Bluefinger last year and played it live for the first time at the Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival in 2023. Now he returns to the Noordplein and brings with him a number of well-known and friendly guest musicians. Who these are will be revealed later. Meanwhile, performances by foreign acts Tray Wellington, Delaney Davidson, Nat Myers, Riley Baugus, Golden Shoals, Carrie Nation and the Speakeasy, New Valley String Band, Damn Tall Buildings, Mary Lee Family Band and Hezekiah Procter have also been announced for 28, 29 and 30 June.

The complete line-up includes over 30 acts from home and abroad and active in American roots music and a extensive fringe programming.

Like Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival, Bertolf shares a mission. To give Bluegrass a stage and make it known to a wide audience. Festival director Guido de Groot is therefore pleased that the Overijssel-based string virtuoso will be there again this year. "Last year, we had the scoop with his first live show in bluegrass line-up. That was even before the official release of his album, about which a lot of great things were later said and written on radio, TV and in the newspapers. In the meantime, he has performed at many venues and festivals in the Netherlands, but for the Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival this year we both wanted to do something special, and so we came up with the idea of having him invite some guest musicians. Which ones they are will remain a secret for now, but it already promises to be a great party. Because what could be better than to enjoy bluegrass to the max with your friends, whether you are on stage or in front of it," says De Groot.

Thundering brass 'n' grass

Besides Bertolf, a dozen international acts have been announced, ranging from soloists to bands.
Featuring progressive bluegrass with jazz and blues influences from American Tray Wellington, dark country, folk and blues from the eccentric Delaney Davidson, pre-war blues from the poetic Nat Myers, authentic banjo authority Riley Baugus, fresh folk music from Golden Shoals and thunderous brass 'n' grass from Carrie Nation and the Speakeasy. New Valley String Band, Damn Tall Buildings, Mary Lee Family Band and Hezekiah are also confirmed.

Combitickets for the whole weekend are available for €40, day tickets will be sold at a later
stage. Ticket sales, more info on the festival and line-up via the website.
