Bar Bù is the very latest hotspot in the middle of Scheepvaartkwartier
Two Chinese temple lions at the entrance to Bar Bù on Van Vollenhovenstraat 19 welcome guests. One of the two stairs (Bù stands for 'stairs' in Chinese) leads to a restaurant in a characteristic environment full of stylish Chinese details and an adjoining beautiful inner garden. Bar Bù offers surprising Chinese dishes with French influences, flanked by wines from all over the world and cocktails. The other stairs lead to a mysterious bar.
Bar Bù belongs to the same owners - Chris Bergers, Robin Bravenboer and Merijn Sips - as the successful River Bar a bit further down the road in the Kooren pavilion right on the New Maas. With Bar Bù, they start a new episode in Chinese French cuisine, all with a subtle nod to the River Bar's famous concept.
Also at Bar Bù, the menu - besides a number of classic dishes - is set up for shared dining: various bites, oysters, small cold and hot dishes and a number of specials. These include foie terrine with black tea and plum, langoustine with white cabbage and coconut. Bar Bù's cuisine is experimental. Try the dumpling with pork, prawn, shiitake mushroom and eel and you immediately understand what is meant by that.
High-level private dining
Bar Bù holds many secrets. Tucked away on the first floor, a world of luxury awaits where you and up to 24 people can enjoy all that Bar Bù has to offer in a private setting. The French doors of the private dining room overlook the serene courtyard garden, letting you escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy an intimate get-together. Whether it's a formal meeting, an anniversary celebration or an exclusive dinner with friends: Bar Bù is ready to meet all your needs and ensure that every moment of your time will be perfect.
