Bakery Draai brings sourdough bread to Park 16Hoven and Nieuw Kralingen

From now on, residents of Park 16Hoven and Nieuw Kralingen can pick up artisanal dough bread and other delicacies at Bakkerij Draai every week. Brand-new entrepreneur and baker Samare Huls is ready with her cargo bike in those new residential areas to bring the products to her customers.

Bakery Turn has a clear mission: to make tasty products that bring people together and contribute to an inclusive society and sustainable planet. In December 2024, the first products were made at a day care location, together with people for whom working is not natural. This shows how, depending on the size of an order, Bakery Draai joins forces to prepare artisanal products with attention and care.

That is exactly what Samare wants to grow towards with Bakery Draai: a social bakery with its own location, working structurally to create a society in which everyone can participate.

Samare: "I want Draai to be more than just a bakery. Draai stands for change. Putting a positive spin on how we eat, do business and interact with each other. I want to create opportunities for people for whom working is not obvious and bring neighbourhoods together with the bakfiets deliveries. Fetching bread thus becomes a moment of meeting and fun."

From the Draaimobile, enthusiasts can pick up artisanal products on Wednesdays in Park 16Hoven and Fridays in Nieuw Kralingen. To avoid waste, the products are baked to order.
