At food court Hidden Gem, enjoy affordable dishes from start-ups

Hidden Gem is a new pop-up restaurant in Rotterdam's M4H port area. In the building that also houses artisan Jordy's Bakery overlooking the port.

Master chef Kelvin Lin
Start-ups will participate in the pop-up, led by master chef Kelvin Lin. Lin is a passionate top chef who is distinctive in modern Asian cuisine with influences from Thailand, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore. He has received rave reviews in the press including AD Golden Ladle winner, Telegraaf, de Volkskrant and NRC. Lin is also listed in the Michelin guide and Gault&Millau awarded him 'Asian restaurant of 2020'.

Affordable dishes
He develops food concepts for international companies and puts his talents to work for young hospitality entrepreneurs. ''I was given a chance to distinguish myself and would also like to help other chefs develop further,'' he says. ''At Hidden Gem, they learn the skills of restaurant management. It is an approachable new Foodcourt 2.0 with affordable dishes. With the clear mission that the food must be pure and genuine. You taste that through in everything, is my belief.''

Mama Q
Lin also cooks himself at Hidden Gem, doing so in the Asian bistronomic line of Mama Q, named after his mother. The young catering entrepreneurs present snacks and dishes from Italy, from Ottoman cuisine, impressive street food and special drinks in their Foodcourt 2.0.
