Armin van Buuren returns to Ahoy with A State of Trance

Armin van Buuren returns to Ahoy with A State of Trance (ASOT) after the first successful edition. It will be a two-day event on 21 and 22 February with an impressive line-up, multiple stages, and even a special A State of Trance Hotel.

One of the highlights of the weekend will be Armin's five-hour set on Friday, in which the popular DJ will invite several artists to spin a unique back-to-back set with him. On Saturday, fans can enjoy a night of performances by more than 25 different DJs, spread across five stages.

Fans can pre-register for ticket sales at astateoftrance.com/register. The pre-sale starts on 5 September at 11:00 am. Regular tickets will be available from 12:00pm.

ASOT history

A State of Trance began in 2001 as a weekly radio show and has since grown into a global phenomenon with millions of listeners and a dedicated community. Shortly after the launch of the radio show, the first edition of the festival of the same name was organised, which quickly grew into an annual pilgrimage for trance lovers from all over the world. Today, the festival is known as one of the most influential and celebrated events within the electronic music industry. Last year, ASOT took place in Rotterdam for the first time with Ahoy as the popular event's new home. Spread over two days, more than 40,000 fans descended on the festival from all corners of the world. Prior to the festival weekend, van Buuren rocked Rotterdam with a real tram rave.

With the new partnership with Insomniac Europe, the European arm of US festival giant Insomniac, A State of Trance is on the eve of a new phase for the trance brand. "A State of Trance just keeps growing, so I'm looking forward to working with Insomniac Europe and continuing to innovate," says Armin van Buuren. "Last year saw a huge expansion, not only by moving to Rotterdam, but also by transforming the festival into a two-day festival with its own hotel, dozens of artists, speakers, events and all kinds of activities. This really feels like a new chapter for us, and I'm looking forward to seeing what we can all achieve together."

A State of Trance Hotel

Following the success of the A State of Trance Hotel in 2024, this year the organisers are collaborating with the Hilton. The A State of Trance Hotel serves as the hub for A State of Trance visitors while also being the location of the daytime programme. With panels, master classes and exhibitions, fans will get a unique insight behind the scenes of A State of Trance and the music industry. The hotel is the official venue of the two-day event and guests who choose one of the hotel packages can look forward to early access to the festival.
