After the IFFR film?

After a film, or during IFFR often several in one day, you may feel the need to loosen your legs. Of course, this is also possible during the film festival at one of the after parties.

CLUB IFFR

Traditionally, on both Fridays and Saturdays and on the second Thursday after the last film, IFFR continues with Club IFFR in the small hall of Theatre Rotterdam . Admission is free on presentation of pass or film ticket. Yard Bird, Paardenrave, Radio Tornado and Ausser Betrieb will host an evening. These organisations have invited Dominál and Jessy Yasmeen, among others, to perform.

Rotterdam Rave Culture "30 Years of Heritage" afterparty

Of course, the premiere of Rotterdam Rave Culture "30 Years of Heritage" deserves an afterparty. Filmmaker Dennis van Rijswijk and music journalist Holly Dicker have made a documentary about the dance scene in Rotterdam from the 1990s to the present. With nostalgic archive material and interviews with DJs, party organisers and ravers. Filming took place on as many remaining dance floors as possible during the winter of 2022, as well as in the houses, studios and various record shops in Rotterdam. Among others, Mike Redman, Thrasher (Gareth van Wijk), Thys Boer and DJ Panic are featured.

On Friday 31 January, there will be two screenings at LantarenVenster. Afterwards, there will be a special afterparty at Perron. With performances by artists from the film such as Stevie, Dreazz, Mike Redman, Panic and Stefan ZMK. Together, they represent the full spectrum of Rotterdam's club scene. Admission is free with a film ticket of the day (doesn't matter which film) and only 5 euros otherwise.

Especially for IFFR, Rotterdam-based record label Infinite Pleasure is organising a feest at 160K, the former Poing, on 1 February. Among others, Anil Aras, Ben Diggins, Manuel Darquart, Roy Lodder & Atnan, LIMA and Jessin Neijts will perform.

Italorator

Marsman (Pinkman's boss) started Italorator last year, a radio show in which he and guests combine Italo disco, synth-pop and Hi-NRG with contemporary music with a similar vibe. The radio show evolves into its first club night at Roodkapje on 31 January.

They themselves call it A Very Official IFFR Afterparty. Marsman has invited Luca Dell'Orso. AanTafel! and Lotus are also rotating in.

DISKO KEBAB

Within walking distance of the various cinemas is Kaapse Maria. On 1 and 8 February, DISKO KEBAB takes place there from 10pm. Divided over two floors, music will be heard and kebabs (ok vegetarian) can be ordered. Admission is free.

Plus, of course, there will be beer. True to tradition, Kaapse has brewed a craft pilsner' in celebration of film festival. Kaapse Tiger is the ideal beer for connoisseurs who appreciate the full-bodied character of speciality beer, but also seek the crisp drinkability and refined flavour profile of an authentic lager.
