91 free performances by up-and-coming musical talents at 41 venues during the Popronde

It is the biggest Biggest Popronde in the Netherlands. Popronde Rotterdam will take place on Saturday 9 November. On that day, 41 diverse locations in the city centre will host 91 performances by bands, producers, rappers and all kinds of other up-and-coming musical talents - all for free.

Popronde is the biggest travelling festival in the Netherlands, where you can see artists perform in all sorts of unexpected places around town who might be playing the big festivals next year. Every autumn, a selection of around 100 bands in all music styles tour 41 Dutch cities. In the past, well-known names like Froukje, Rondé, Meau, My Baby, Chef'Special, Kensington, Racoon, De Staat, Go Back To The Zoo and John Coffey started their careers at the Popronde. As recently as 2023, Popronde won the renowned IJzeren Podiumdier for Best Festival of the Netherlands.

Popronde Rotterdam, for years one of the country's bigger editions, won the Rotterdam Music Award in the category: Best Festival in 2021. The upcoming edition on Saturday 9 November promises to be a huge musical (pub) tour, with 91 performances at 41 well-known and lesser-known venues.

Besides well-known venues such as Rotown (programmed by Baroeg), the Zondebok & 't Zwarte Schaap, Bar3, the Gele Kanarie, FERRY, WORM, De Doelen and DOX (Nieuwe Luxor Theater), there are also different venues. Indeed, there are also performances at the Markthal, the Kunstuitleen, audio shop Bang & Olufsen, sandwich shop BUN, the Mariniersmuseum and hostels StayOkay and Ani & Haakien.

Compared to last year, a whopping 14 new locations have been added and eight locations are back.

Popronde Rotterdam kicks off on Saturday 9 November at 13:00 with a performance by folk artist Levi Boon at Donner bookshop and continues throughout the day, until the afterparty from midnight at Club Centraal with acts Scherry, Absent Chronicles and Enjaku Yoyo.

In the afternoon and early evening, so-called 'previews' will also take place, small-scale performances by artists who can also be seen elsewhere later in the day.
