Zine & Vinyl Pop-up, Vinyl DJ's & Zine Release
'Zine & Vinyl' brings together art, music and vinyl in an evening full of creativity and good vibes. With the release of FLYSOLO's first zine, rousing sets from MAMA DEMBA and ELLA ELLA, and a pop-up market full of zines, records and art, this is an event you don't want to miss.
The 'Zine & Vinyl' event brings you a special evening. The Containertrap started this year well with a photo exhibition by photographer and artist Gilson do Rosário Silva, “I FLYSOLO But Never Walk Alone.”
The exhibition (on view until February 25) will be festively concluded with the release of FLYSOLO's first zine, a self-published magazine. This zine includes photos from his photo exhibition and previously unpublished work.
Besides the zine release, this is also the first edition of the 'Vinyl Vibrations' with MAMA DEMBA and ELLA ELLA. Your new favorite night, where the love for the pure sound of vinyl is celebrated. Get in the mood with soul, funk, reggae, global and African vibes and be surprised by the unknown.
Our special guest DJ comes especially from Spain, the Cape Verdean, MAMA DEMBA.
He has one of the best vinyl collections of African records, and is co-founder of Tabanka Records. He is a member of Badju D'Terra Sound System Collective and co-founder of Mindel Reggae Family. It is guaranteed to be a party on his journey through unique sounds from Cabo Verde, Angola, Guinea Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe (PALOP) and the Caribbean.
ELLA's style ELLA can't be pigeonholed so let her next record surprise you. From danceable classics to unknown B-sides. Her tunes have a requirement; you feel it in your body, heart and soul!
During your dance break, also stop by the pop-up market. Here you can buy FLYSOLO's zine, records from TABANKA's label and t-shirts; POLON and prints from Sai Rodrigues. This self-taught artist (and illustrator of our flyer) makes sublime work, often inspired by comics and manga.
