Yuja Wang speelt Ligeti - Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest
Is there a more brilliant pianist on this planet than Yuja Wang?
She was given carte blanche by us and chose Ligeti's sparkling Piano Concerto, a breathtaking work that was tailor-made for her. After that, Mahler's Fifth will be performed. 'Dancing stars, a seething sea,' the composer called the middle section of that symphony – which would also be an apt description of Ligeti's music.
