Workshop Pantsula Dans Soweto Skeleton Movers

In this workshop, the South African Soweto Skeleton Movers will take you into the world of Pantsula: a typical South African street dance style, known for its energetic and fast footwork, danced to pumping Afrohouse or Amapiano beats. Pantsula originated in the South African "townships" in the 1950s and is more than just dance: it originated as a form of protest, it is a way of life and has a specific clothing style. This workshop is prior to the performance

Are you ready to immerse yourself in this dance style?

Soweto Skeleton Movers

Soweto Skeleton Movers consists of five dancers (Topollo Ntulo, Jabulani Manyoni, Junior Hlongwane, Molefi Rakitla and Lerato Motsepe). With their unique dance style 'skeleton pantsula' (a mix of Pantsula and “bone breaking”) they have long outgrown their status as street artists and perform worldwide. The dancers had their big breakthrough in 2016 at Breakin' Convention in London. After that they performed in Australia, Canada, the United States, Sweden and the Netherlands. In 2023 they toured the Netherlands with “Unbreakable” and performed for King Willem-Alexander & Queen Maxima and Trevor Noah. Due to the great success they will be back in the fall of 2024!
