Wederzijds vertrouwen begint lokaal!

LOKAAL celebrates its 30th anniversary with the jubilee conference Mutual trust starts locally! There is still a lot of work to be done in our city to improve the trust between Rotterdammers and the government. Speakers are Marije van den Berg (of the podcast Democratie in Uitvoering among others) and Jerzy Soetekouw (director of Vereniging Humanitas NL). This national volunteer organization started the petition 'Stop the debt industry'.

Also: Unveiling of Elfie Tromp's anniversary poem, panel discussion with Natasha Mohamed-Hoesein (Alderman for Poverty Reduction), Marjorie Malbons from the MAIT foundation and Jamal Oulel from Socialdebt, music and much more.

LOKAAL is the centre for democracy in Rotterdam. The foundation was established in 1994 to reduce the distance between Rotterdammers and municipal politics. This is based on the idea that local democracy must be permanently maintained, especially in a city like Rotterdam with the most diverse population in the Netherlands. More than ever, there is a need for skills and abilities to be able to live together in this city.
