Wasted Youth Club / Abdomen / Paracetamøl
The three idiosyncratic Frisians of Abdomen draw inspiration from a wide range of genres and forge these influences into a compelling sea of raw, hard post-punk full of distortion, chorus and reverb.
Their dark sound cuts on all sides, immersing you in a bath of gritty guitars and pounding drums. Their second album will be released in early 2024, of which two singles have already been released as a preview.
Arnhem garage/post-punk band Paracetamøl was formed in 2019, driven by a love for bands like METZ, Oh Sees, Ty Segall and Ex Cult. The raw and energetic sound of this four-piece offers an incredibly intense experience—dark, hard, venomous and intense. Live, they always impress with merciless performances, creating a force field of guitar and screamed vocals, but still leaving room for small nuances of creative riffs and structures. They have already played at major festivals such as Noorderslag, Zwarte Cross and Valkhof Festival.
Wasted Youth Club’s party garage punk is a glimpse into the survival journey of four friends as they navigate their quarter-life crisis. Fueled by sweat and beer and inspired by bands like Fidlar, Thee Oh Sees, and Wine Lips, Wasted Youth Club creates an endless stream of hard-hitting bangers. The four-piece released their debut album in early November 2024, and their live shows are a whirlwind of energy, with no barriers between the audience and the band—an endless source of moshing bodies and crowd surfing.
