Vulvaverse presents - Tristwch Y Fenywod, Liturgy (solo) & Segadeath

Welcome to Vulvaverse, a transformative music festival curated and brought to life by the band VULVA.

Our mission is to create an inclusive universe where marginalized artists, musicians, creators, and speakers can showcase their talents and foster a space of learning and healing. We want to scream, dance, laugh and listen together, making space for new perspectives. Furthermore, we aim to provide valuable insights and information through our programming.

Tristwch Y Fenywod is a band of three queer women who play avant garde Gothic rock using folk, rock, and digital instruments, with lyrics sung entirely in the Welsh language (Cymraeg). Sapphic love and desire, existential darkness, political and environmental anguish/celebration, psychogeographic romance, pagan mysticism, imaginal explorations of Celtic history and myth, psychedelia, and myriad other variations of reverie are conjured through the music of Tristwch Y Fenywod. They were formed in 2022 in Leeds, which is where the band is primarily based.

Liturgy is the project of Haela Ravenna Hunt-Hendrix, whose yearning, energetic “transcendental black metal” exists in the space between metal, art music and sacred ritual. The current line-up consists of Mario Miron (guitar), Tia Vincent-Clark (bass) and Leo Didkovsky (drums).

Lauded for their fusion of heartfelt emotion, compositional complexity, stylistic daring, and intense live energy, the band is simultaneously a medium and platform for drama and theology. The band was formed within the context of Brooklyn DIY as a solo project by Hunt-Hendrix in 2005, while she was studying philosophy and classical composition at Columbia. In 2009, Hunt-Hendrix sparked a fiery conversation in the music world with her lyric “Transcendental Black Metal,” and after expanding to a quartet, they made a global splash with their 2011 sophomore effort Aesthethica, fusing black metal with math rock and infusing the form with a counterintuitive, loving, emotional energy.

SEGADEATH is a Rotterdam based dungeon synth, dystopian Electro, Ambient and

Science Fiction. Your local non-binary synth hero. Inspired by a nostalgic longing for a simpler time and a cold yet hopeful vision of the future.
