Mert Pekduraner is an Amsterdam-based guitarist and composer who blends traditional Anatolian sounds with modern composition techniques. His use of both standard and fretless guitar opens up new musical perspectives, integrating the richness of maqam systems into contemporary jazz forms. His work gained international attention with the composition Kıyı, written for the 17th Venice Biennale. With albums such as Geriye Ne Kaldı? and Dialogues in the Dark, he demonstrates how he perfectly balances melody, instrumentation and cultural influences.
