Verdi's Requiem door Lorenzo Viotti

Verdi's Requiem contains many moments that, consciously or subconsciously, have become part of the universal soundtrack of life. And that's not surprising. Verdi used all his dramatic know-how to unite the comfort of mourning with the threat of death. The menacing climax, the Dies Irae, is so good that it is still often used in films.

The line-up is so large that the Requiem is not often performed at such a high level as by Lorenzo Viotti, the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and the Choir of Dutch National Opera. A unique opportunity to hear this monumental work in Viotti's last season as chief of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra.
