Un Silence

Un Silence is the new film by Belgian filmmaker Joachim Lafosse, known for Les Intranquilles . This film revolves around the family of Astrid, played by Emmanuelle Devos, and her husband François, played by Daniel Auteuil. When the silence within this family is broken, the most disturbing secrets emerge. Astrid and François, together with their son Raphael, lead a privileged life on their large walled estate. A high-profile lawyer, François has achieved considerable notoriety after his involvement in one of the biggest lawsuits in recent years. Despite their fame, they manage to maintain peace within their walls. However, after 25 years of silence, the family balance begins to shake when their children seek justice. This search causes an implosion in the family. The film explores the tensions that arise when hidden truths come to light. Un Silence had its world premiere at the San Sebastian Film Festival, where it was part of the Official Competition. Joachim Lafosse was awarded the Best Director Award at the Rome Film Festival.
