In 'Uit m'n buurt' Guido Spek takes you to Rotterdam Charlois, the neighborhood where he grew up. This time not as a spectator, but as a conversation partner. Because we all know: a good neighbor is better than a distant friend. But what does that neighbor actually have to say?
Guido goes out into the streets and starts talking to the people who live here – the people he used to walk past, but now really wants to get to know. With an open ear and a curious heart. He asks questions that he might think he already knows the answer to in his own world, but in the neighbourhood it turns out to be very different.
This performance is not just about what you hear, but especially about what you had never noticed. 'Uit m'n buurt' is a search for simple answers to sometimes complicated questions. By breaking away from his phone and really going out on the street, he hopes to discover new perspectives and stories, and perhaps also to come home a little.
A performance full of humor, recognition and above all: connection. Because sometimes the most surprising discovery is closer than you think.
