I'm a Robot and I need Therapy is an experimental and absurd performance that explores the boundaries between human and machine, theatre and technology. Creators Marina Orlova and team combine autobiographical material with live-generated AI text to tell the story of a neurodivergent AI in therapy. Themes such as empathy, power relations and the failure of healthcare systems are explored from critical and ironic angles. The piece, which balances between dance, theatre and dark comedy, is followed by a public conversation with the fictional EIAI Institute on human and artificial psychology. A sensory and intellectual experience that questions our relationship to technology and mental health.
