Thee Sacred Souls

Raised on the gospel music of his Christian parents, but also on classic Motown records, Josh Lane's velvety falsetto voice echoes the sound of a rich musical past, in which Marvin Gaye and Curtis Mayfield especially resonate. Together with his soulful fellow musicians in Thee Sacred Souls, Lane effortlessly translates that heritage into a sound for all times, but especially for the summer.

Their first singles were streamed over ten million times and attracted the attention of not only mainstream media like Rolling Stone, but also major artists like Timbaland. Seeing live is believing; the band's first club shows immediately resulted in a deal with the renowned independent New York Daptone Records, where debut album Thee Sacred Souls was released in 2022. Judging by the lyrical reviews, the attention for this young band from San Diego will spread like wildfire in the coming years. After a resounding concert at North Sea Jazz this year, they are back in Rotterdam! On Sunday 16 February 2025 they will play at Annabel.
