The Phonograph changed me - officiële opening Rotterdam Arab Film Festival

The 25th edition of the Rotterdam Arab Film Festival opens with a special evening dedicated to Umm Kulthum. A multidisciplinary performance with live music and film footage sets the tone for a festival full of Arab cinema, art and music.

The anniversary edition of the Rotterdam Arab Film Festival opens with a spectacular evening celebrating the rich culture and music of the Arab world. This year, the legendary Umm Kulthum takes center stage in the multidisciplinary performance The Phonograph Changed Me, in which the Marmoucha Orchestra brings her musical legacy to life together with composer and filmmaker Toni Geitani. With live music and film footage, her influence on the Arab world is impressively honored. The opening marks the start of five days full of Arab cinema, art and music, and is the result of a special collaboration between the festival, O. Festival and the Marmoucha Orchestra. A unique and compelling start to a festive 25th edition!
