The New Current 2025: Perception and Identity Unbound

Experience a unique art experience in the iconic former margarine factory De Kaai during Rotterdam Art Week! The New Current presents Perception and Identity Unbound, an exhibition in which 27 recently graduated artists explore the boundaries of identity and perception and reflect on the impact of technology and media. The exhibition is designed as a sensory journey through a completely dark space, in which light, sound and form surprisingly come to the fore. Each step deepens the experience and offers a unique view into the world of the artists. Also very suitable for non-seasoned art lovers!

About The New Current

The New Current is a Rotterdam platform - founded by Yvonne de Jong and Sophie de Vos - for artists at the beginning of their career. During the annual Rotterdam Art Week, an exhibition is organized with work by recently graduated artists from the Netherlands; focused on experiment, large-scale installations, audiovisual art and crossovers. Prior to the event, there is a development program that further supports emerging artists in their professional practice and path in the professional art field.
