The Most Dangerous Game

This adventure classic is considered one of the founders of the adventure film genre. With live soundtrack by James Whale Orchestra and Amsterdam Brass Quintet.

Tonight we are screening an influential adventure classic that is considered one of the founders of the adventure film genre. With a live soundtrack by the James Whale Orchestra, who put the original score by composer Max Steiner in a surprising new arrangement.

In this adventure classic, an evil count hunts shipwrecked people on a remote island. Big game hunter Bob Rainsford is the sole survivor of a shipwreck. On the island he manages to reach by swimming, an even more difficult ordeal awaits him. There, a certain Count Zaroff amuses himself by hunting... shipwrecked people. Together with Eve, another victim of the count, Bob flees into the jungle. With only his own ingenuity as his weapon.

The film's spectacular sets would later be reused for King Kong, while a significant portion of the cast and crew also worked on both adventure classics.
