Guitarist Teis Semey (DK) has quickly made a name for himself in recent years. Whether with the punk-infused avant-garde of the Teis Semey Quintet, the folky choir Midnight Mess or the electro/acoustic Raw Fish, his attitude towards music has earned him a place as one of the most important young up-and-coming names on the European jazz scene in 2023. The "rising star" (NRC) has already released three albums, and shows no signs of stopping. This year he will release Midnight Mess vol. 1, and is working on an album with Raw Fish and a fourth album with his Quintet. Ella Zirina Trio

Amsterdam jazz guitarist and composer Ella Zirina (originally from Latvia) presents music from their new album with her Trio. Zirina is accompanied by Jamie Peet on drums and Ton Felices on double bass. They intertwine their musical characters and express their individuality in the canvas that is Zirina's compositions. Love for a melodically strong and expressive approach and passion for exploring textures, timbres and grooves - these are the musical pillars that unite the band. The Zirina-led band has performed at various venues and festivals in Europe, such as Oslo Jazz Festival (Norway), Nigran Jazz Festival (Spain), BIMHUIS (Netherlands). The band was awarded first prize in the Virtual Jazz Club Competition in 2022. Ella was artist in residence at BIMHUIS (Amsterdam) for the talent development project 'New Makers', within which she released the well-received debut album 'Intertwined' in March 2023. Since then she has also released a solo guitar album. She graduated with the highest distinction from the Conservatory of Amsterdam. She has performed in numerous projects and shared the stage with musicians such as Ben van Gelder, Reinier Baas, Tineke Postma, Jesse van Ruller, Pablo Held, Kurt Rosenwinkel and others.
