In a world that is going to hell, from looming climate disasters to insane tech billionaires, there sometimes seems little to be cheerful about. TEC ART 2025 dares to prove otherwise.
This year’s edition of the festival argues that even in the race to the bottom of society, there is always hope to be found. The exhibition The bright side of dystopia is a dramatic attempt to look beyond the utter madness of reality and share a message of hope: maybe after the total collapse, we can finally see a bright side!
A selection of international media artists delve deep into the darkness of our present time and present poetry of the future. Ukrainian-born artists Yuri Yefanov and Sophia Bulgakova respond to the violence in their home country by combining indescribable sadness and humor to create newly imagined worlds and experiences reminiscent of the best drug trips. Mark IJzerman and Sebastian Robert’s AV installation brings the devastating effects of deep sea mining to light in a surprisingly pleasant way. And there’s more misfortune, wrapped in neon colors of happiness!
Realism and hope go hand in hand in this year's edition of TEC ART . The artists do not avert their gaze from what is wrong, but actively choose to emphasize what is beautiful. Let us go down together happily. Welcome to the positive side.
