'Spoons Share' is a solo exhibition by Zwaantje Kurpershoek at Het Wilde Weten, in which she explores the concept of "sharing" within her paintings.
As artist-in-residence at Het Wilde Weten, Zwaantje Kurpershoek developed a new series of paintings around the concept of delen—the Dutch word for both "sharing" and "dividing." In her paintings, she plays with this double meaning and creates new images and stories. She plays with proportions and balances between different forms of value, from large quantities to singles, combinations to divisions, parts to wholes. With elements from mythology, mathematics and everyday objects, Kurpershoek constructs a world in which logic and play merge.
