Sing Sing

Sing Sing tells the inspiring true story of a group of inmates who start a theater company in New York's notorious Sing Sing Prison. One of them, wrongly convicted Divine G (Colman Domingo), injects new life into the group by turning existing works into something new, a comedy called Breakin' the Mummy's Code.

The lead role is played by Colman Domingo, known for his Oscar nomination for Rustin , and he is one of the few professional actors in the cast. Most of the players are (former) participants of the successful Rehabilitation Through the Arts program. Thanks to the personal experiences of the screenwriters, who taught as volunteers in prisons, a realistic and compelling portrait is created of men who, through theater, can not only play someone else, but also discover themselves. These true stories give the film a unique authenticity and make it an unforgettable experience that celebrates the transformative power of art.
