  • Lecture/Debate

Part of the series 'Good conversations about difficult topics'.

'Money doesn't make you happy' is the well-known wisdom. Why do we have such a hard time realizing this? Why is money the great engine that lies behind almost all social developments?

Money also has a useful function, of course, but it is gradually overshadowed by a dark side. We will discuss this with Bram Bakker and Paul Schenderling during the Meaningful Drink Christmas Special.

In Addicted to Money, former psychiatrist and addiction expert Bram Bakker considers a form of immoderation that has become so accepted that few people are bothered by it. While it is high time to give this diagnosis some serious attention.

Economist Paul Schenderling, author of, among other things, There is life after growth, approaches this issue from a completely different angle. He sees how our entire economic system is focused on 'more' and that this is destroying our living environment. That is the reason to make different choices and no longer focus on growth.

Along the way, Paul discovers that 'Living on Enough' unexpectedly has an enormously positive effect: he experiences more meaning, more joy by no longer focusing on 'more'.

There will be live music, room for Q&A, inspiration and meeting.
